This book started out good, good characters, good storyline, some hot sex an evil beeoytch...then instead of just making a good story throughout, the author had to throw in some stupid drama that was really uncalled for. This caused me to not like our leading lady as much anymore. Why oh why was this necessary, this only caused we the readers to want to slap Madison for being stupid and insecure and scared. Which up until this point she wasn't any of those things. If I were Holden I would not have let Madison back in so easily,. she would have had to prove her love and trust in me before opening my heart back up to her, but alas men think more with the wrong head and you have insta HEA.Blah like I said strong beginning and middle then jumped into crazy town! This could have been a solid 4 stars without the added drama. What is wrong with just writing a good, hot love story? Sadly 2.75 stars :(

This is K. Langston's debut novel, and I'm officially a fan. A southern girl herself, Ms. Langston has created a cast of swoon worthy country boys, all alpha in their uniquely southern way, and heroines who are strong and sassy with enough backbone to handle these guys.

K Langston has given her readers a great start to a promising series. I'm a huge fan of the small town romance genre, and I'm very excited about this author and this series. She's got a unique writing style that makes feel as if they are part of the conversation, and she lets you into her characters' thoughts. She did all that while giving this story a very unique and distinct southern flair. 'm definitely looking forward to more from this talented new author.
Holden meets Madison and instantly falls in love. How can this be possible?? He's never been in love before. She doesn't have love in her lifeplan for many years. But BAM they are both struck or are they??
This is a hero like no other. He has been around the block and lived to tell the tale. He has climbed out of the dregs of depression, disillusionment and despair. He saw the Heroine, his "Maddie" and fell so far in love, he almost reached the center of the earth. I adore Holden. Sigh.
Maddie is a law student about to be attorney in a hot minute. She is trying to swim with the big guys. She is really out of her league. She is a mouthy, intelligent, fragile, rather innocent and distrustful woman/child who is bowled over by Holden and his honesty.

I have never read anything by this author before and was delightfully surprised. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this book to every romantic out there!!
Hot, hot, hot!!!
Wow, this was a really bad book. There is no plot, there is a big case of insta-lust (which is fine) which then, FOR NO REASON that is explained, turns into insta-love on the part of the hero within a matter of days. Meanwhile, the heroine keeps running away from it for no valid reason. It was just exhausting and juvenile. Lots of sex -not something I object to when it moves the plot forward -- and not much else. Also, the dialogue is truly uninteresting and UNwitty. The biggest flaw is the lack of any explanation --explicit or implicit -- why these two are in love we get the lust but why is this going to end in a HEA? Save your money and pass on this one.
An awful lot of sex scenes, but the romance part was a bit odd. They fell in love almost instantly, then suddenly, Maddie is running scared? Why? Dont know, we are never told. Maddie, frankly, made me just want to smack her upside the head. I either needed to understand WHY she was so scared, or she needed to act like a 'normal' adult in a relationship. As it was, she just came across as annoying and immature.
I got this as a free book, but I feel that it is worth buying for someone looking for a good read. It won't take a lot of time to read this book. You will be engaged in the story of Maddie and Holden. Maddie has come home because her father had a heart attack. Holden is helping out on the farm for her dad. Their first meeting causes sparks to fly. They fall fast and they fall hard. The sex scenes in this book burn up the sheets. There are some moments that I wanted to shake Maddie. There is a villain, Alexis. She is a first class female dog. Holden is the perfect guy. He has one bad judgement call, but in my eyes he should have been forgiven the first time. Everyone would love to have a Holden in their life. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
